Vision

To become the leader, catalyst, and authoritative source for information, research, and ideas on critical international issues facing the Southwest, our nation, and our world.

As an integral part of New Mexico State University, we see a future where every student and faculty member has an international experience and where we prepare leaders to meet global challenges.

Mission

To excel at NMSU as an umbrella organization through institutional commitment, strategic teaming, and collaboration. To challenge the imagination, foster ideas, and marshal the resources to

  • Achieve a recognized presence and focal point for international affairs at the university and beyond
  • Assist in developing academic courses, certifications, and degree programs qualifying students for international careers
  • Support and expand existing NMSU efforts providing international experiences to students and faculty
  • Perform critical sponsored research and projects that increase the knowledge base; enhance business development and trade; lead to peer-reviewed publications and scholarly presentations; yield solutions to pressing international issues; and create the foundation and stimulus for advocating needed change
  • Provide outreach and services to local, state, national, and international organizations
  • Encourage and support citizen and community involvement in global issues, including partnerships with business and government
